Information about the local area

The county of West Midlands is home to the thriving gay friendly city of Birmingham. This has a number of venues licensed for gay weddings. Other towns in the county where you could find a wedding venue include Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, Coventry, Smethwick and West Bromwich.

There are excellent transport links for your family and friends coming to your wedding with the M6, M40, M42 and M1 as well as the international airport and good rail links.

If you are holding your civil partnership ceremony in Birmingham you could take your wedding photos with Victoria Square as the backdrop - it has one of the largest fountains in Europe.

You could also make sure that your venue supplies some of the local chocolate made at the Cadbury's factory on the menu!

Or your guests could extend their stay in the area and visit Cadbury World, the only purpose built visitor centre in the UK devoted to chocolate.
