Powys in south Wales is famous for the Brecon Beacons National Park. There is a wide range of wedding venues in the area from country houses to hotels.
If you or your guests want to extend you stay after your civil partnership ceremony, there are plenty of attractions including the Black Mountains. For the more energetic, there is Offa's Dyke Path and the Taff Trail.
The main tourist sites are Powis Castle and the Centre for Alternative Technology. For cyclists there is the Welsh National Cycle Route, which runs through the Brecon Beacons National Park. For your honeymoon, you could also hire a narrowboat and go along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.
If you hold your wedding in August, you could visit Brecon, where they hold the Jazz festival in mid-August. Other places of interest in the area include Tretower Court & Castle, Abergavenny, a busy market town and Llandrindod Wells, a Victorian spa where the water is still available outside the Pump Room.
