Berkshire lies in the heart of Southern England. A perfect location if you have friends and family coming to your wedding from both London, the Home Counties, the Midlands and the West Country. It is bordered by Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Surrey.
The M4 motorway and the rail links provide good connections with Slough, Maidenhead, Reading and other parts of the County with swift access to London and the West Country.
You could arrive at your wedding venue by boat, taking a trip along the River Thames, which runs from Reading to Windsor.
If your wedding guests want to make a weekend of it, Berkshire has pretty villages and traditional pubs. Or you could send them off to walk the Ridgeway path to work off the food and drink consumed at your gay wedding! If they have kids in tow, you could wave goodbye from your wedding venue and pack them off to Legoland, a theme park with spectacular models made entirely from Lego bricks.
For those who like a bit of glamour attached to their wedding, the county is often referred to as 'Royal Berkshire' because of its close links to the British Royal Family. These include 'Royal' Ascot racecourse and Windsor Castle - the oldest continuously occupied Royal residence in Britain.
